Media Prep & Glasswash

The Media Prep & Glasswash facility provides all types of media, including plates and buffers, as well as clean and sterile glassware to facilitate the world-class research carried out at the LMB.

The facility’s five sections provide:

  • General media and buffers
  • Tissue culture media
  • Agar plates
  • Fly food
  • Fly sub-culturing service
  • Clean, sterile glassware
  • Sterilisation service, either by baking or autoclaving
  • Mycoplasma testing

The facility strives to improve sustainability throughout its services by reducing waste, conserving resources and minimising single-use plastics.
