London Stansted is the closest airport, with budget flights from Ryanair and easyJet to/from Europe. Direct trains to Cambridge run regularly via Greater Anglia and CrossCountry.
London Heathrow Airport
The Elizabeth line runs from Heathrow to Farringdon, and the Picadilly line connects to King’s Cross and St. Pancras, both offering direct trains to Cambridge.
Trains
Train timetables and fares, can be found at: National Rail Enquiries, The Trainline (plan and buy UK train tickets) and London Underground.
Cambridge South station will be opening next to the LMB in 2026 as indicated on the map below.
Bus
Cambridgeshire Guided Busway services A and U from Cambridge station stop close to the LMB as shown on the map below.
Details of buses: Stagecoach, Whippet, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority journey planner.
Walk / Cycle
The LMB is easily accessible by foot or bike via the Guided Busway path or local off-road routes from the train station. Cycle maps are available from the County Council, and Cycle Streets offers route planning. Bike parking is located at the main entrance.
Taxi
Taxis are available at Cambridge station and in the city centre. Ask the driver for Francis Crick Avenue rather than using the postcode, which may lead to the main hospital. If needed, use postcode CB2 0AA, which is a short walk from the LMB.
Driving
If driving, ask your host to reserve a parking space or use a nearby public car park (see map below). Some old SatNav systems need the postcode CB2 0AA to find Francis Crick Avenue. Visitor parking is signposted at the front of the building.
