For most users, the LMB website does not set any cookies. If you log in to any secured areas of the site, an identifying cookie is set.
This site embeds content from YouTube (videos), Google Maps (How to Find Us), and BSky.app (BlueSky news feeds). At the time of writing, none of these set a cookie when you visit this site, however they may have access to any cookies previously set via other sites.

What information is being collected
- Questions, queries or feedback you leave, including your name and email address if you use any contact or request forms/email links.
- Your IP address, and details of which version of web browser you used.
Reasons for collecting personal information
- To send you email alerts and newsletters on a specific topic, event or area of interest that you have specified.
- To collect information for specific activities, for example public engagement activities or acceptance of image terms and conditions.
Who we share your information with
Personal data may be shared with organisations we work with to enable us to provide you with our products and services. For example, if you are attending an event and have informed us of your dietary requirements this information will be shared so that your requirements can be considered.
How long do we keep your information
We will keep your personal information for as long as it is needed to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. It will be kept in accordance with the UKRI Information Management Policy and retention schedule.
For example, if you sign up to our newsletter, we will keep your information to enable us to send it to you. If you withdraw your consent your personal data will then be removed as it is no longer needed.
If you are participating in a survey, event or any other engagement activity, more specific information regarding how long your information must be kept will be provided when you sign up.

The lawful basis we use to process your personal data will depend on our interaction with you, it is likely to be:
- Public task.
- Consent.
- Legitimate interests.

- The right to be informed about our collection and use of your personal data. This Privacy Notice should tell you everything you need to know, but you can always contact us to find out more or to ask any questions using the contact details at the end of this page.

- The right to have your personal data rectified if any of your personal data held by us are inaccurate or incomplete.
- The right to be forgotten, i.e. the right to ask us to delete or otherwise dispose of any of your personal data that we hold.
- The right to restrict (i.e. prevent) the processing of your personal data.
- The right to object to us using your personal data for a particular purpose or purposes.
- The right to withdraw consent. This means that, if we are relying on your consent as the legal basis for using your personal data, you are free to withdraw that consent at any time.
- The right to data portability. This means that, if you have provided personal data to us directly, we are using it with your consent or for the performance of a contract, and that data are processed using automated means, you can ask us for a copy of that personal data to re-use with another service or business in many cases.
- Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling. We do not use your personal data in this way.
